Old vs. New - Engine 80-3 - Engines 80-3Old vs. New – Engine 80-3 Antique Engine 80-3 is a 1968 Mack R- Model, diesel powered, manual transmission and has a 750 gallon per minute (GPM) Waterous pump, and 1000 gallon tank. This Engine hosts an 2 man cab with side compartment mounted self contained breathing apparatus. This engine cost approximately $30,000 when it was procured brand new by the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company. New Engine #80-3 is a 2007 Spartan Chassis - 4-Guys, Inc. Custom Pumper with a Stainless Steel - 12 gauge body, diesel powered engine by Cummins ISL - 400 HP; Allison EVS 3000P automatic transmission, Hale QMax 2000 GPM side mounted pump with 1,250 gallon water – 20A-20B Foam – UPF “L” shaped tank, with Rear suction, Painted R/U doors, Custom shelves / trays, Alum. Hose bed cover, Harrison 20kw hydraulic generator, Quartz lights, 3000w Light tower, electric reel, hydraulic reel, Whelen LED Light package, automated ladder rack, and FoamPro systems. This Engine hosts a 7-man cab with fully equiped self-contained breathing apparatus devices installed into the seats. This engine cost approximately $442,000 when it was procured brand new by the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company. The Antique Engine #80-3 is housed at our Oak Orchard facility and is primarily used as a parade piece. 2010 SVI 80 Marine 1 - 80 Marine 1The Vessel Committee acquired a 26’ foot vessel from SVI Trucks (www.svitrucks.com and www.sviboats.com) of Loveland, Colorado to serve the fire district of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company. The 26’ SVI Boat is a vessel to serve fire companies and is constructed of heavy duty marine grade aluminum constructed vessel with a 72” power operated bow landing craft gate to transport manpower, equipment and/or ATVs. The vessel hosts a 12’ x 6’ working deck space; self-bailing hull design with seating for ten (10) and can be fully maneuverable while flowing water. The vessel host an array of technology and telecommunication devices which include: 800 megahertz radios, 400 megahertz radios, VHF Marine radios, Garmin Radar devices, FLIP thermal imaging camera, global positioning units, and much more. The fire suppression system is capable of running 5” large diameter discharges, monitor discharges, and 1 ¾” hand lines. The vessel's graphic art work and lettered were coordinated by Rogers Sign Co. of Milton, Delaware. Awarded the Best Appearing Marine Unit in the 2012 Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association's 92nd Annual Parade in September, 2012. These units each carry 1 ¾” fire suppression hose and forestry booster lines as well as 3” supply hose. These units have a 10,000 pound front mounted Superwinch and are AED equipped. It is AED equipped. 1999 Ford 4 Door F-350 - Brush 80-0This Brush Truck has a Ford 7.5 diesel engine, automatic transmission, fiberglass body, 250 GPM pump with a separate engine, and a 200 gallon tank. It carries 1 3/4 inch and forestry handlines as well as 3 inch supply hose. It has a 10,000 pound front mounted winch. In March, 2009, this unit was retired from the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and transferred to the Georgetown Fire Company as a Chief's Vehicle. In April, 2011, this unit was permanent retired by the Georgetown Fire Company and transferred to Donovan's Salvage Yard. 1985 17' Boston Whaler with Trailer - 80 Marine 280 Marine Unit #2 has a 90 HP Johnson outboard motor, folding backboard, 15 mile Radar, and GPS navigation equipment. It is AED equipped. 1981 American LaFrance 100' Ladder Truck - Ladder 80 (Retired)100 ft. aerial Sold - December 2009 1980 Ward La France/Maxim Engine - Engine 80-7 (Retired)Engine #80-7 was a five (5) man cab, a 6v71 Detroit diesel engine, Allison automatic transmission, 1000 GPM Hale pump, and a 1000 gallon tank. It was believed to be the next-to-last Ward La France ever manufactured and delivered. Engine#80-7 was replaced with our newest unit (Engine #80-3) scheduled for delivery in February, 2008. This engine was retired from Indian River in mid calendar year 2008 and later sold to Beech Island, South Carolina. Beech Island refurbished engine is in active use as Engine 81. 1968 Mack Engine - Antique - Engine #80-3 (Parade Piece)Engine 80-3 (retired) is a Mack diesel power, a manual transmission, 1000 GPM Waterous pump, and 750 gallon tank. It has Mack bodywork and carries chassis #10 in the R Model series. This truck took 1st Place in its category at the 2004 Delaware Volunteer Firemen's Association Parade. Mack Tractor #80-4 (repainted) - Mack Tractor (Retired)Indian River's repainted tractor in 1985 and acquired new 6,000 stainless steel tank.
