Traffic Control 80 - 2024 Chevrolet Silverado Double Cab
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is pleased to announce the activation of its new Traffic Control Unit. This unit is a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Double Cab Utility Body Truck.The unit has finished its transitioning and has been retrofitted to be a fire police traffic control unit to assist traffic initiatives. The traffic control unit has been equipped with emergency response vehicle emergency lighting, mobile and portable 800 MHz radio communications, LED scene lighting, hydraulic TRAFCON arrow board, and is equipped with traffic cones, signs, and other essential supplies that enhance visibility on the roadway.The graphic design lettering and striping work was coordinated by Rogers Signs in Milton, DelawareThe installation of the emergency lighting, emergency radio, scene lighting TRAFCON and other ancillary operational items were coordinated and installed by First Due Custom Services in Seaford, Delaware.The Fire Police Officers affiliated with Indian River will man the truck at designated events and emergency incidents within our immediate fire district as well as assist our mutual aid partners. This unit adds visibility for the fire police officers while performing their designated tasks and assignments.The funding for the procurement of this vehicle was a collaborative effort with our elected officials – Delaware State Representative Jeff Hilovsky, as well as Delaware State Senators Gerald Hocker and Brian Pettyjohn.This unit's official designation is 80-30 will be known as Traffic Control 80. |
