James (Jim) W. Queen, Sr.
Jim Queen joined the Delaware volunteer fire service in 1972 with the Camden-Wyoming (41) Fire Company before joining the Christiana (3,6,12) Fire Company in 1999 and then transferring to Indian River (80) in 2004.
Jim served in many volunteer positions during his tenure with the volunteer fire service most notably reaching the Chief and Presidency positions in Camden-Wyoming. On the fire line operations side of the house, Jim served as Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, EMS Captain, and Chief. Jim was employed for many years as an Emergency Medical Technician throughout the State of Delaware.
Additionally, Jim received the Heroic Firefighter Award for saving two lives from a capsized boat and awarded a Life Membership in the Camden-Wyoming Fire Department for his volunteer tenure.
Jim served on many committees with the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company including Engineer, Truck Acquistion Committee, Fill-the-Boot Committee, and Fire Prevention Committee to mention as few.
