Friday, October 28, 2016 Nature: Utility #80-14 Truck Refurbishment Nearing Completion...
On Friday afternoon, October 28, 2016, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company attended a progress update event to coordinate the truck refurbishment final phase for Utility #80-14 which is a surplus military 5-ton repurposed vehicle utilized for inclement weather within the fire district. This detail highlighted the completed electrical system lighting for scene lights, interior cab and compartment lights, driving and navigational lighting enhancements; completed rear compartment safety rails; completed modifications to front and rear canopy bow devices; and identified the pending step modification for easier rear access, trailing hitch and set-up for towing, and rear compartment canopy/tarp.
