Nature:  Indian River's new Pierce Saber Engine (Squad 80) Continues - Progress Report #18

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is pleased to announce the production status update for one of its new Pierce Saber 7000 fire trucks to replace our aging fleet. This unit will be a Pierce Saber Cab & Chassis and will replace Engine #80-1 - https://irvfc.com/apparatus/detail/4611. This unit will be known as Squad 80 with an estimate cost of $914,495.

This replacement engine will feature the following options:

• Pierce Saber Cab & Chassis

• Cummins L9, 450 HP Engine

• 3000 Series Allison Transmission

• 1500 GPM Pump

• 1000 Gallon Water Tank

• Husky 3 Foam System

• Firetech Scene Lighting

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company will publish additional information as it becomes available and will be posted hereafter.

This report for this stage of the new Saber has fully completed the manufacturing and inspection process and has been delivered to Indian River for further processing.   The lettering and striping by Rogers Signs in Milton, Delaware have been completed.  The next phase of activity will be the mounting of equipment, radios, and computer as well as other specialized work for Indian River and the activation training.
