Nature: Fabrication Process for Indian River's new Pierce Saber Engine (Squad 80) Continues - Progress Report #15
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is pleased to announce the production status update for one of its new Pierce Saber 7000 fire trucks to replace our aging fleet. This unit will be a Pierce Saber Cab & Chassis and will replace Engine #80-1 - https://irvfc.com/apparatus/detail/4611. This unit will be known as Squad 80 with an estimate cost of $914,495.
Atlantic Emergency Solutions – Florida Division has recently published information that this replacement engine has continues with the manufacturing, fabrication, production, inspection and testing processes over the past weeks.
This replacement engine will feature the following options:
Pierce Saber Cab & Chassis
Cummins L9, 450 HP Engine
3000 Series Allison Transmission
1500 GPM Pump
1000 Gallon Water Tank
Husky 3 Foam System
Firetech Scene Lighting
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company will publish additional information as it becomes available and will be posted weekly hereafter.
This report for this stage of production is that the new Saber is continuing along in the third-party testing department, by next week it will have completed testing and proceed to different quality control departments. A cadre of Indian River’s Truck Committee will be attending the Pierce Manufacturing Facility in Bradenton, Florida in mid- April, 2025 for the pre-delivery inspection.
