Indian River Activates Tower 80 for Service
Indian River Activates Tower 80 a Pierce 100' Ascendant Arrow XT Mid-Mount Aerial Truck for service as of Sunday, May 16, 2021
The Truck Committee in and for the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is pleased to activate for service its new Pierce 100' Ascendant Arrow XT Mid-Mount Aerial Truck purchased via Atlantic Emergency Solutions.
The Truck Committee has diligently pursued an acceptable replacement unit for approximately the past 12-months and was successful making the replacement recommendation on February 23, 2021 to the full company with an authorization to proceed.
Indian River has worked closely over the weeks with Atlantic Emergency Solutions to solidify the terms of the acquisition, equipment mounting, and overall preparation for service.

The acquisition costs for this unit was $1.4 million plus an additional 10% for equipment acquisition and mounting.
This aerial device replaced Indian River's previous Ladder Truck which was 1990 Pierce 105' Ladder Truck which was should to the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department in Crisfield, Maryland.
Indian River’s activation announcement culminates a significant period of training in order to ensure qualified personnel have been authorized to proceed with its operational implementation.
