Story

Indian River Continues to Promote Fire Prevention While Recognizing Personal Milestones

As the pandemic continues, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company has developed a fire prevention strategy that continues to promote fire prevention and fire safety initiatives yet recognizes personal milestones (i.e., birthday or other special occasions) for the designated person.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is committed to doing its part during this COVID 19 crisis and is taking precautions to prevent the spread of this and all viruses by disinfecting all equipment and apparatus after incidents with our firefighters wearing the necessary personal protective equipment to ensure overall safety.

Additionally, we are attempting to keep hope and high spirits alive by hosting special recognition activities, exercising apparatus, and providing a community service – but most of all – spreading the word that fire prevention and fire safety remains a crucial component of our everyday lives.  While doing these community activities, a fire company representative gets out of the truck and delivers some appreciation items for the birthday person -- firefighter hats and stickers, as well as fire prevention and safety material.

Illustrated herewith are some photographs that highlight these activities for the current period as well as previous event:
