On Saturday, October 17th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a fire alarm sounding in a residential structure on Helmsman Way in the Stonewater Creek development off Indian Mission Road. It was reported to be detectors within the residential structure sounding but cannot smell anything.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility and Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews coordinated an exterior and interior evaluation of the residential property.  It was identified to be faulty detectors and reviewed with the residential occupants

All emergency response apparatus were authorized to return to their quarters upon compilation of their assignments.
