HAVE A HOME FIRE ESCAPE PLAN! EVERY SECOND COUNTS.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company encourages every household to develop, practice, and maintain a residential fire escape plan.

?? Be prepared before an emergency strikes!

• Plan two ways out of every room, if possible.

• Choose a safe meeting place outside, a safe distance from your home.

• Check smoke alarms to ensure they work on every level of your home and inside sleeping areas.

• Practice your escape plan with everyone in your household, including children and older adults.

• Get out and stay out. Once you are outside, never go back inside a burning building.

?? A fire can spread quickly. Planning ahead can save lives.
