Nature: Residential Structure Fire - Fowlers Path - Peninsula Lakes

On Friday morning, October 9th, the Indian River (80), Millsboro (83) and Lewes (82) fire departments were alerted for a residential structure fire on Folwers Path in the Peninsula Lakes development off Bay Farm Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported to be a smell of smoke in the residence with the fire alarms going off.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility with Engine 80 and Command 80 from the Long Neck facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.  The Lewes and Millsboro assisted with evaluatuion and hydrant assignments before being released.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial exterior evaluation and incident size up report with nothing evident from the exterior.  An interior evaluation and crawl space evaluation was coordinated with no changes in findings.  Mutlipe crews coordinated an evaluation with the same results. 

It appears that situation was the result of faulty detectors.  A discussion was coordinated with the occupants apprising them with all of the evaluation results. 

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident. 

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respectiver quarters.
