Nature: Fire Alarm – Commercial – Oak Orchard Professional Center

Location: 26744 John J Williams Hwy, 19966

On Friday, October 2nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a commercial fire alarm sounding within the structure on John J. Williams Highway.  It was reported a fire alarm activation elevator mechanical room.  This was a second emergency in the fire district.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility. 

Emergency response crews coordinated an exterior and interior evaluation finding contractors onsite working which caused the activation.  A discussion was coordinated with the contractors advising them coordinate repair notifications with the alarm monitoring company.

The designated facility responder(s) declined to respond to the incident location.

The facility was placed on officer call notification for 48 hours.

All emergency response apparatus were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
