Nature: Vehicle In Floodwater – River Road

On Wednesday evening, September 23^rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle stranded in floodwater and requested the highwater vehicle for extrication.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Coastal Towing Services.  It was reported that an Amazon driver enter the flood prone area of Chiefs Road and River Road and become disabled. The incident location was abled from Honeysuckle Knoll to River Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80 and Utility 80-14 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush 80 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crews donned their respective water rescue gear and access the water vehicle the high water vehicle offering extrication of the vehicle occupants to awaiting EMS personnel.

It appears that a Nissan Roque vehicle entered the tidal water conditions along River Road near Chiefs Road and become disabled; thereby, needing assistance.  The vehicle was left pending changes in the tidal conditions for better accessibility.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
