Nature: Medical Emergency – Landing Zoning Assignment

On Thursday afternoon, September 10th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad with a landing zone assignment on John J. Williams Highway in the area of Bulls Eye Lane.  Additional emergency alerts include the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit.  It was reported to be an unconscious / fainting person.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80 and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, preparation for landing zone and assistance with loading patient into the aviation unit.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
