Nature: Medical Emergency – Aviation Landing Zone Assignment

Address:  Long Neck Road / White House Road

On Sunday evening, September 6^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist with a medical emergency on Long Neck Road in the vicinity of White House Road.  Additional emergency alerts include the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics and the LifeNet2 Aviation Unit.  It was reported to be an unconscious / fainting person – BLS incident on the side of the road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80 and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, preparation for landing zone and assistance with loading patient into the aviation unit.

It appears that a person fell off a bicycle while riding.  The reason for falling off was unknown.  Medics on location requested an aviation unit for transport.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
