Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Commercial Structure – County Bank

Location: 25933 School Lane, Long Neck, DE  19966

On Sunday, September 6^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding within a commercial structure on School Lane at the County Bank location.  It was reported to be a zone 1 fire alarm sounding.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Command 80 as well as Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility.  The Delaware State Fire Police also assisted at the incident.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior and interior evaluation of the facility.

It was identified that malfunctioning detectors were the cause of the incident. An overall evaluation of the structure was completed with the assistance of the facility responder.

All emergency response personnel were authorized to return to their respective stations.
