Nature: MVC – ALS – Persimmon St. / Main St. – Bay City

On Saturday, September 5^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle accident on Main Streetin the Bay City development. Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.  It was identified to be a collision involving two golf carts.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility; Incident Command 80 and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews coordinated patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that blue Toyota SUV collided with a disabled golf cart that was near the edge of the road.  The SUV struck the rear of the golf cart.  One person was transported for additional medical observations.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control assistance within the development.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
