Nature: Outside / Brush Fire

Location: 26405 Peaceful Way, 19966

On Tuesday afternoon, July 21^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a brush fire in the vicinity of Peaceful Way off Mount Joy Road.  It was reported to be someone burning brush and possibly unsupervised.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included identification and verification of concern, offered commentary and education to fully apprise the property occupant of the proper burn procedures and Delaware’s Burn Ban.

It was identified that a property occupant was burning in the area and not aware of the burn ban.  The burn was extinguished by the occupants.

All emergency response apparatus was authorized to return to their respective quarters.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.
