Nature: Structure Fire – Residential – Assist Georgetown (77)

Location: 23203 Wood Branch Rd Georgetown, DE 19947

On Monday morning, July 20^th, the Indian River (80), Millsboro (83), Milton (85), Laurel (81) and Dagsboro (73) fire companies were alerted to assist Georgetown (77) Fire Company with a residential structure on Wood Branch Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Georgetown American Legion Ambulance, the Sussex County Paramedics and many other mutual aid companies for cover up assignments. It was reported to be a building / structure fire.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility; Engine 80 and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included personnel to assist with fire suppression assignments as delegated, water supply and shuttle and other tasks as assigned.

The first arriving units found a single family dwelling with fire showing from side “A” with smoke all the way around the structure and utilities on side “C.”  All occupants were accounted for.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal was present and investigating.

The Delaware State Fire Police and other agencies coordinated the closure of Wood Branch Road between Sussex Pines Drive and Zoar Road.
