FIREFIGHTER FRIDAY: The Heart Behind the Helmet Recognizes Chris Kinsler
This week, we’re proud to feature another dedicated member of Station 80:
???? Christopher Kinsler – Firefighter
?? Born in Chester, Pennsylvania, and raised in Delaware
? 4 years with Station 80
?? Why he joined:
“I always had a passion for helping others. Becoming a firefighter has let me help our local communities in more ways than I could ever imagine.”
???? Inspired by:
Steve Deery.
?? What he enjoys most:
“I enjoy the thrill of racing to get suited up, climbing into the back of the firetruck, and responding with the crew to help others in need.”
?? What people might not realize:
“You may have to miss a few hours of your family's holiday dinners. In the end, it's all worth it to help our community when they need us.”
?? Most memorable call:
Ironically, Christopher's most memorable call happened before he was ever a firefighter. After his family had to call the fire department because of a neighbor's poor choices, he watched firefighters arrive within minutes and go to work. Seeing their professionalism and dedication inspired him to one day join the fire service himself.
?? Outside the firehouse:
Christopher owns and operates a landscaping company.
???????? Off-duty:
He enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Candice, their daughters, Skylee and Carlee, and their dog, Bentlee. Whether they're at home or traveling, making memories together is what matters most.
? Favorite local spots:
Wawa and Royal Farms—where you'll often find fellow landscapers grabbing a quick bite.
?? Favorite sports team:
Philadelphia Eagles
?? Fun Facts:
• First job: Thrashers on the Boardwalk
• Favorite movie: Rush Hour
• Favorite music: Country
?? Why it matters:
“I am proud to help others when they are in need. You never know when you might need help yourself. I also want to teach my daughters the importance of helping others by volunteering to protect our local families and friends.”
?? Why volunteer?
“Volunteer firefighters choose service over self. They step up when others step back and run toward danger rather than away from it. If you have the drive to help others, sign up!”
?? His advice:
“Do it. It gives you the opportunity to meet new people in your community, help others in need, and find a true sense of purpose.”
Christopher's passion for serving others extends beyond emergency response. As a husband, father, business owner, and firefighter, he leads by example, demonstrating the importance of giving back to the community. His commitment to helping others while teaching his daughters the value of service reflects the spirit that makes the volunteer fire service so special.
?? Thank you, Christopher, for your dedication, service, and commitment to making a difference in our community!
