Nature: Elevator/Escalator Rescue

On Monday, June 15^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an elevator rescue incident on Windswept Drive in the Peninsula. It was reported to be three persons struck inside an elevator car with an estimated time of 30 minutes for the respective contract service company.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Chief 80, Tower 80, and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included facility evaluation and assistance with getting the occupant(s) out of the respective elevator car.

The facility was notified to contact their elevator repair contractors for a service evaluation.
