Nature: MVC – Rollover – Oak Orchard Road & Oak Orchard West development entrance

On Saturday morning, May 30^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Mid Sussex Rescue Squad was alerted for a vehicle accident involving a rollover on Oak Orchard Road at the entrance to Oak Orchard West.  It was reported to be a two vehicle incident.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Chief 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization where needed, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, and need for windshield displacement to allow patient removal from the vehicle. 

It appears that a white Ford Escape and maroon Ford Pick up collided at the entrance to Oak Orchard West causing the pick up to overturn on its side.  The occupant of the pick up need a windshield removal to extricate from the vehicle.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the closure of Oak Orchard Road for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
