Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: School Lane and Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Tuesday afternoon, May 19^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road near School Lane. Addition emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported to be a two vehicle accident with possibility of two patient with minor injuries.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a white Ford Transit van and a white Volkswagen Passat collided at the intersection of the Long Neck Road and School Lane causing damage to both vehicles on the left front driver’s side.  The Volkswagen had air bag deployment.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with limited traffic patterns on Long Neck for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
