Nature: Electrical Hazard

On Sunday morning, May 17^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an electrical hazard within the Community Church of Oak Orchard.  The incident was reported as an electrical issue – can smell electrical odor with no smoke or fire.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Safety Officer 80-20 and Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews coordinated an initial 360 exterior evaluation as well as an interior evaluation.  A discussion was coordinated with the occupants.  Thermal imaging cameras were requested inside.

The Church was evacuated prior to the arrival of the fire company.   The issue was isolated to a ceiling fan within the structural. All responding apparatus was limited to Tower 80.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
