Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm – Residential Location

Location: 21943 Surf Board Blvd Pelican Point, DE 19966

On Saturday afternoon, May 16^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a residential automatic fire alarm sounding on Surf Board Blvd in the Pelican Pont development off Indian Mission Road.  It was reported to be a residential fire alarm issue.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80 with Safety Officer from the Oak Orchard area and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck area.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial incident size-up upon arrival, exterior evaluation and discussion with the residential occupants.

It was identified to be a single family residential structure with nothing evident from the exterior.  The Safety Officer assumed Incident Command and discussed the situation with the occupants.  It was determined that the batteries were being changed.

All emergency response apparatus was authorized to return to their specific assignments.
