Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Saturday evening, April 25^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road at the Massey’s Landing Public Boat Ramp.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Millsboro EMS Units.  It was reported that nearby residents heard the accident, could see headlights but could not hear any voices. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Incident Command 80 and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck area and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery as well as overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a silver Audi sedan was traveling on Long Neck Road and did not successfully navigate the entrance to the public boat ramp parking causing significant damage to the vehicle.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control where needed.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
