Nature: Walden Walk for Autism – 2^nd Annual Event

Location: Walden Community Harbeson

The Walden community in Harbeson, Delaware, actively supports autism awareness and fundraising, primarily through partnerships with Autism Delaware. Local residents and community groups often participate in and organize events to benefit the organization’s statewide mission of supporting individuals with autism and their families.

On Saturday, April 25^th, the Delaware State Fire Police assigned to the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company assisted with traffic control during this community's 2^nd Annual Walden Walk for Autism Fundraiser.

• Fundraising Events: Residents frequently participate in major regional fundraisers such as the Walk for Autism, which serves as a "family reunion" for the Delaware autism community.

• Awareness Campaigns: During Autism Acceptance Month in April, community members engage in awareness initiatives, such as the "Light Up Blue" campaign and specialized training for first responders to improve safety and inclusivity.
