Nature: MVC - Pedestrian

On Thursday, April 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of the Royal Farms.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Delaware State Police – Aviation Unit – Troop 2 and the Sussex County Paramedics.  It was reported that a pedestrian was hit by a car.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews were downgraded after initial arriving units identified minor injuries.  One person was transported to nearby medical facilities.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
