Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

On Wednesday morning, April 15^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Mid Sussex Rescue Squad as well as the Sussex County Paramedics were alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the Rite Aid parking lot.  It was reported to be a single vehicle off the roadway.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery where needed and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a white Chevrolet Trailblazer vehicle was traveling on John J. Williams Highway and left the roadway and into the parking lot curbing.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control where needed.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
