Nature: Gas Leak

Location: 26611 Pepperidge Cv., Pot Nets Lakeside, DE 19966

On Saturday, April 4th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a gas leak at a residential location on Pepperidge Cove in the Pot Nets Lakeside development.  It was reported that the occupants could smell gas within the residential structure and notified emergency services and contacted the utility service provider.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident evaluation and mitigation.  The residence was evacuated prior to arrival of emergency response personnel.  The utility service provider was notified and various gas meter detections indicate presence of gas. 

Emergency crews did determine pursue protocol to ensure that the propane was shut-off to the residential structure as well as pending arrival of utility service providers.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic for the duration of the incident.
