Early Monday morning, March 30th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad with a landing zone assignment in the Rehoboth Shores development off Long Neck Road. Additional emergency alerts included Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper 2, the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Utility 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

The landing zone was designed to be near the entrance to White House Beach but was ultimately moved to field across from the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad on Indian Mission Road.

All fire company emergency response apparatus were authorized to return to their respective quarters after the assignment was completed.
