Nature: Trailer Fire – Residential

Location: 26414 Sea Mist Court – Rehoboth Shores

On Tuesday afternoon, March 24, 2026, the Indian River (80), Millsboro (83) and Lewes (82) fire companies were alerted for a residential manufactured home fire on Sea Mist Court in the Rehoboth Shores development off Long Neck Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.  It was reported to be a single family manufactured home with smoke coming from out of the house across the street.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 and Brush 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included overall incident evaluation, suppression and wet-down of the exterior steps and side of the residential structure.

It appears that a fire started in the area around the outside steps or side of the manufactured home causing damage to the skirting and side of the home.  The fire was extinguished prior to arrival of emergency response crews.

The Delaware State Fire Police assigned with traffic control and scene access for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Marshals are investigating.
