Nature: MVC – Rollover

Location: 35446 Joann Drive, Mariners Cove, DE  19966

On Tuesday morning, March 24, 2026, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover on Joann Drive in the Mariners Cove development off Long Neck Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad, the Sussex County Paramedics, and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit - Trooper 2.  It was reported to be a single vehicle rollover on Joann Drive in the Mariners Cove development.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization where needed, patient stabilization where needed, fluid & debris recovery, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts.  The aviation unit was cancelled.

It appears that a dark green Honda CRV struck a parked U-Haul trailer attached to a Dodge Durango and overturned on Joann Drive in the Mariners Cove development.

The Delaware State Fire Police assigned with traffic control and scene access for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
