On Friday evening, February 27th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a gas leak incident at the Baywoods Clubhouse off John J. Williams Highway.  It was reported to be possibly be an inground propane tank leaking.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident evaluation and identified of potential area of concern.  The was odor of propane in the area.

It appears that the large underground propane had encountered some type of issue causing a gas leak issue.  The tank was shutoff and it was determined that the manifold on the tank has developed a leaking issue.  The proper utility service provider was notified of the incident.

The issue was reported to the Pot Nets Security personnel.

All emergency response apparatus was authorized to return to their respective quarters.
