Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Sherwood Forest South (80)

John J Williams Hwy and Tucks Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday afternoon, February 27^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway near the entrance to Sherwood Forest.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad. It was reported to be vehicle accident with possibility of one person for transport to nearby medical facilities.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Squad 80, Engine 80 and Traffic Control 80 from the Long Neck area and Utility 80-11 from the Oak Orchard area.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery as well as overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a maroon Ford Taurus struck the rear of a Honda CRV which have impacted another vehicle because it sustained but front end and rear end type damages.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident as westbound traffic patterns were impacted by the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
