Nature: Citizen Assist / Service Call

On Tuesday afternoon, February 24^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a citizen’s assist – service call type incident on Canal Drive Extended in the Short Hills development off Banks Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad. It was reported to be a tree fallen on the residential structure with a hole in the roof area.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Utility 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility.

Emergency response crews completed an external evaluation, secured the utility service disconnected, attempted to assist with temporary housing accommodations.

It appears that a tree fell onto the residential structure damage.

The American Red Cross was notified for assistance.

The respective utility service provider was notified of the incident.
