On Monday evening, February 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding at a multi-residential apartment building on Hoarvard Avenue in the Carillon Woods development off Indian Mission Road. It was reported to be an automatic fire alarm sounding.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.
Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior evaluation and initial interior evaluation discussing with the building occupants at the residential structure.
It was determined that steam from a culinary experience was the rationale for the AFA activation. The property management operations were notified of the incident.
All emergency response units were reassigned to another alarm that was dispatched while enourate to this residenital incident location.
