Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Mount Joy Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday evening, February 7^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway and Mount Joy Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported to be a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway where a vehicle has struck a transportation light pole in the median crosswalk.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Command 80, Rescue 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a maroon Buick Verano did not successfully navigate the turn from John J. Williams Highway onto Mount Joy Road and struck a transportation light pole that was in the median crosswalk.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
