On Friday evening, February 6th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding at a multi-residential apartment building on Windswept Drive in the Peninsula development off Bay Road.  It was reported to be an automatic fire alarm sounding.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tower 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior evaluation and initial interior evaluation discussing with the building occupants at the residential structure.

It was determined that a low pressure issue with the fire sprinkler was at issue. The fire suppression system was drained and the building was placed on fire watch protocol.  The occupants were advised to consult with their management firm and make sure the sprinkler repair companies are notified for immediate repairs.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective stations.
