Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Banks Rd and Green Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday morning, January 21^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and Millsboro EMS Units was alerted for a vehicle accident on Banks Road in the vicinity of Green Road.  It was reported to be a single vehicle into a utility pole with two occupants in the vehicle.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments incident vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, notification of the utility service provider, and notification of DELDOT as well as overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that a maroon Corvette was traveling on Banks Road and left the roadway striking a utility pole and nearby fencing. The utility pole was cracked and would require replacement.  The occupants were evaluated by EMS personnel.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the traffic control with the roadway closure pending arrival of DELDOT during the anticipated extended time period for utility pole replacement.

The Delaware State Police are investigating
