Nature: Automatic Crash Notification

Location: Indian Mission Rd and Beaver Dam Rd Harbeson, DE 19951

On Friday, January 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and a Millboro Volunteer Fire Company EMS Unit were alerted for an automatic crash notification on Indian Mission Road just north west of Beaver Dam Road.  This incident was reported based upon an iPhone activation.

Emergency response apparatus from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Squad 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crews responded to the area and did not identify any actual vehicle collision but found an iPhone on the shoulder of the roadway.  All other emergency response apparatus were cancelled and returned to their respective stations.

After evaluation, Rescue 80 was able to identity the property owner of the device and properly notified the emergency operations center of the resolution of the incident.
