Nature: Medical Emergency

City: Pot Nets Creekside

On Tuesday afternoon, July 8^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad with a landing zone assignment for an in-coming aviation unit.  The medical emergency was located in the Pot Nets Creekside development off of Long Neck Road. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Rescue 80 and Engine 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  Other emergency response units included the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included the identification and establishment of a landing zone for incoming aviation, assistance at the incident location to provide manpower assistance, traffic control at the landing zone area.  The incoming aviation unit (LifeNet2) landed in the grassy field at Ridgewood Drive and Countryside Drive.

During the mitigation phase of this incident, Indian River received a second emergency and Tanker 80 was redirected to the next emergency incident.
