On Friday morning, May 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm sounding within the commercial complex of the Baywood Clubhouse.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation efforts, exterior evaluation before making access for an interior evaluation while identified contractors working on location.

The rationale for the alarm soundings were associated with the monitoring and evaluation of the alarm sytems which was not reported to the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center. 

All emergency fire response units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.
