Nature: Wires Down/Arcing

Location: 24379 Blue Blvd Shawns Hideaway, DE 19966

On Monday, February 17th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a wire down incident on Blue Boulevard in the Shawn’s Hide-a-way development. It was reported as a vehicle pulled wires down.

Emergency response units included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.  This incident was the second incident in the fire district.

Emergency response crew assignments evaluation and reporting incident to the respective utility service provider (Delaware Electric Cooperative) and traffic control for the duration of the incident.

It appears that a trash truck was in the development performing services and become entangled in the overhead wiring which may be a primary residential electric service.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
