Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Harbeson Rd and Hollymount Rd Harbeson, DE 19951

On Monday morning, February 17^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad was alerted for a vehicle accident at the intersection of Harbeson Road and Hollymount Road.  It was reported that a bus operator was rear-ended while approaching the intersection on Hollymount Road.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, vehicle stabilization where needed, fluid and debris recovery, patient stabilization and overall incident mitigation efforts.

It appears that DART bus was struck from behind by a silver Ford Escape causing minor front-end damage to the Escape.  One person was transported to nearby facilities for additional evaluation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.  The traffic patterns along Hollymount Road were restricted during the mitigation activities.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
