Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: Windjammer Rd and Sloop Rd

On Sunday evening, July 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident in White House Beach near Windjammer Road and Sloop Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics, the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit – Trooper #2, and the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  The incident was reported to be a person fallen out of a golf cart.

Emergency response units from Indian River included the pre-arranged standby crew from Paradise Grill with Tanker 80, Utility 80, and Brush 83 to the incident location as well as the Delaware State Fire Police and Engine #80-1 to the landing zone assignment.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization where needed, landing zone assignment, traffic control, and incident mitigation.  The additional EMS Units, Paramedics and aviation were utilized to fly to Christiana Hospital.

It appears that an occupant of a golf cart fell out causing bodily injury. 

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control with the complete closure of Long Neck Road at the entrance to White House Beach for the duration of the incident allowing the arrival and departure of the aviation unit.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
