Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Phillips Branch Rd and Indian Mission Rd Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday, May 23rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident at the intersection of Phillips Branch Road and Indian Mission Road.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Delaware State Fire Police. It was reported to be a two vehicle collision at the intersection.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, and Squad 80 and Utility 80 from the Long Neck area.

Emergency response crew assignments included patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery and overall incident mitigation efforts. DELDOT Traffic Management was notified that the roadway signage at the intersection was knocked down as a result of the incident.

It appears that a white Nissan Pathfinder and a white Toyota Camry collided at the intersection causing injury and damage to both vehicles.  One person was transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
