Nature: Traffic Collision - No injuries

On Saturday, May 23^rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the area of Coastal Clean Car Wash.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad.  It was reported that the car hydroplaned and wrecked with airbag deployment and unsure of injury status.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Safety Officer 80 from the immediate area.

Emergency response units were limited to the EMS units with all fire apparatus being cancelled. The EMS provider assisted with patient assessment.

It appears that an Acura SUV was traveling on John J. Williams Highway and reportedly hydroplaned and crashed.  There were no other vehicles involved.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
