Nature: Structure Fire

On Thursday evening, May 14^th, the Indian River (80), Lewes (82) and Millsboro (83) fire companies were alerted for residential structure fire on West Harbor Drive in the White House Beach development.  Additional emergency alerts included the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad and the Sussex County Paramedics.  It was reported to be smoke from the home.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine 80 and Brush 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as Tanker 80 and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an initial 360 assessment with location of utilities on the “Charlie” “C” side with smoke coming from the chimney.  Emergency response units were limited to Indian River.

It was determined that the reporting party over-reacted and thought the smoke was from the roof area of the house but it was coming from the chimney.

All emergency response units were authorized to return to their respective quarters.

The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control.
