Nature: Gas Leak – Village Way – Pot Nets Bayside

On Sunday afternoon, March 15^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a possible gas leak in the area of Village Way in the Pot Nets Bayside development.  It was reported that gas could be smelled in the neighborhood but unsure of the origin.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine 80 and Brush 80 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included an exterior evaluation of the designated area as well as around the neighboring parcels on Village Way to ascertain the origin or source of the smell.

It appears after evaluation that the smell was originated from the pumping stations located in the immediate vicinity as there were not any propane tanks leaking or being odoriferous within the immediate vicinity.

The reporting persons were consulted with the findings and the situation was closed.

The emergency response units were immediately alerted for another alarm within the fire district.
